“For as long as I can remember I have always been in love with makeup. I still recall the time I stole my Mum’s makeup at the age of 3, rubbing lipstick all over my lips (and the rest of my face) and completely loving every moment…
Since then, I have been in the modelling industry for the last 6 years which has ignited my passion for makeup. I’ve always had a deep interest in a makeup artists ability to transform a face so beautifully with next to no effort. I’ll never forget the time I looked in the mirror for the first time after getting my makeup professionally done and literally being taken a back; I felt like a whole new woman. In addition to this, my creative flare has also stemmed from my love of art as a young girl, in particular painting with colours. I then took an opportunity to grab a makeup brush and decided to combine these two pasts and turned them into my new future ‘Ruth Willmer Makeup’.
Now knowing that people trust me with their faces every week to give them that same confidence boost I felt all those years ago is truly the most rewarding job of all. I love what I do, and I love my clients. I once heard from a well known makeup artist Mia Connor that if you ‘make your passion your profession, you will never work a day in your life’ and I couldn’t agree with that more.”
